Distress
Remedy
Distress Remedy is a
homeopathic flower medicine that provides relief for minor
accidents, injuries and bruises; pain and inflammation; and
emotional upset due to physical trauma.
Nature’s
Sunshine
Distress Remedy is suitable for
injured birds and other wildlife as well as domestic pets
suffering from shock. It is beneficial in supporting the body
following surgery and other times of distress. Use before,
after and/or during times of physical and associated mental
stress.
Flower
remedies have served well in several key areas of pet therapy
and care, including:
• Aiding in
learning, cognitive skills
• Fears,
phobias, anxiety
• Confidence
and enjoyment of life
•
Obsessive/compulsive disorders
•
Recuperation from surgery, trauma or illness
• Rescue and
rehabilitation of traumatized pets and wildlife
Distress Remedy contains the
same ingredients of other flower remedies on the market today,
plus the added benefits of comfrey, arnica and calendula.
Arnica contains sesquiterpene lactones, which are substances
that are known to support the body in reducing inflammation and
pain. Arnica stimulates the white blood cells to disperse
trapped blood and fluid from the site of an injury. Folk
medicine healers in Europe used infusions, extracts, and
ointments containing calendula. Calendula preparations were also
used in the United States during the 19th century for stomach
concerns, liver complaints, conjunctivitis (pink eye), and
wounds. Researchers soon have found that compounds containing
calendula help to reduce inflammation.
Nature’s
Sunshine
Distress Remedy features
leopard’s bane, garden marigold, rock rose, traveler’s joy,
impatiens, cherry plum, star of Bethlehem and nightshade. It
also contains purified water, glycerin and potassium benzoate.
Distress Remedy is easy to
administer to animals. It can be added to your pet’s food or
water bowl. My recommendation is four drops of
Distress Remedy up to four
times a day, or eight drops twice a day if you would like to add
it to your pet’s meal. Other ways of administering it are to put
the drops on your hand and let your pet lick it off. You can
also add it to small pieces of bread or absorbent dog/cat
biscuits/treats, which makes for a great training reward. It can
be otherwise absorbed via the skin if it is difficult to
administer drops via the mouth or via a bit of food when an
animal is in distress.
